job 1-2

April 26, 2007

1. We can learn that people always find someone else to blame. they never take the blame out on themselves.

2.God in a way was showing off Job to the Devil. He wanted to prove to the Devil that there were some true followers of Him.

3.Some relationships with your friends are good they are right there witg you and they will not leave your side. but some do not understand your reasons and just want you to do what they want you to do.

4.Job was close to his family. He loved all his children and he was very sad when he found out that they were dead. His wife was very selfish and she just wanted him to forget about the whole thing and curse God.

My mom always looked up to her older brother. He was head of the football team and got good grades. He was also a partying machine. My mom saw his example and took it as the right one. She also went to the parties with him. One time she was with him and he told her there was no room in his car for the ride home from the party. He directed her to his friend from school to take her home. She went with him. She did not notice till it was too late but, the boy was going the wrong way. She told him and he said he knew and would not take her back. He would not even stop to let her go. She got away but the shock is that the person that she trusted misled her in the wrong direction. Her brother represents the pigs in the way that he knew that the boy was not appropriate fopr the ride home. If her brother was more responsible he would have gave her a better situation.

my thoughts on the trial

March 19, 2007

I liked the witness idea. I thought the open debates were hard and they were my least favorite part . It was fun though it made me want to come to class. Over all I liked the trial and I think that we should do it again in another class.

Mayella Ewell is the same as Tom Robinson in the ways that they both saw each other and wanted in some way to see eachother. Tom wanted to see if she was ok and if she needed help. Mayella wanted to see Tom and had lust for him. They both were concidered  lowlife of Maycolm. She was a woman and he was black.

On the other hand they were different she was white and he was black. They both were low but Tom was considered lower because he was black .She won the trial just because she was white . She was only a little bit more wealthy.

Theywere alike and different they were considered low because of thier sex and race. but because she was white she still had some authority. since she was white she had all the rights to win the trial because no black man was going to win the trial.

I think mocking birds represent the freedom of the the kids.  They knew everything that happened in the town. They  were innocent in the same way as the mocking bird. they also wanted Boo Radely to be free but, I think this was also a sign of Boo being innocent and that it was a sin to hurt or kill him.

Scout had promised her dad that she would not fight. When she went top her familys house she forgot it. her cousin Frances called her  dad a nigger lover so she went off. she did not know what it meant, but it was the way that Frances said it. She trapped him in the house and wouldn’t let him come out or she would beat him. Her uncle did not listen to her side of the story. He only heard Frances’s side so he whipped her good. later Scout confronted him with what he was supposed to do as a good parent and he appoligized.

The Finch’s  jem and scout find a new friend, dill. They play every day. Jem decides that they should play a different game. After thinking for a while they decide they should play a game called Boo Radely. They make  a part for every one.  they try to get Boo out of the house, but it does not work. I think Boo is going to be a big part of this story and I am excited to find out how.

To Kill A Mockingbird

January 23, 2007

I think to kill a mocking bird is going to be about racism. I think it is going to be a good book. It sounds very interesting. I think it will give us ( Mr. Amico’s 12:20 English Honors class) a new way to look at things, like a new perspective. It is going to give us a better perspective of what it felt like being in  the situation of many of those people. I am glad that Mr. Amico gave us this book to read. I will get into this book so that I can feel what it is like of that time. This book is going to keep me alert as I am going to pay attention to every detail and word. I plan to keep up with the reading so that I am on top of things this year. I want to make sure that I understand everything so that I can get a good grade in this class. This book is going to be adventurous and exciting and at the same time we will be learning allot about the past and what it was like to live back then. I will be dilligent in all the journal writtings to make sure I understand this book. This book may put an impact on our lives. It can make us think and live differently. I hope I learn something from this book, to kill a mocking bird. This is the start of a new habbit of reading and understanding.
